I would have made a little head and shoulders, and drawn a heart, and had the puffy cloud thought bubble coming out of the heart. For me, it’s the “oomph” of the prayer that is often hard to express.

But then again, sometimes words come to me in prayers that make me feel like it couldn’t be said any other way. My spoken (or written) prayers often expand my heart for the issue at hand. They work in tandem and it’s really quite beautiful.

Don’t give up on praying out loud just because it’s not everything you wish it could be. Be satisfied in knowing the thought really does count when it comes to God.
